Those above 18 years can register for vaccination from April 24

On Thursday, RS Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority (NHA) said that vaccine registrations for all those who are above 18 years of age will begin in the next 48 hours.

He said, “All this above the age of 18 can register on CoWin by April 24… The vaccination process and documents remain the same.”

He also informed that besides Covaxin and Covishield vaccines, the Russian vaccine Sputnik V will also be added as an option at some centres. More centres and private facilities are also being set up for a faster vaccination process.

Also, private firms have been asked to publish vaccine timetable on CoWin platform so that people are able to book date and time. He said, “Private firms/industries need to share information on vaccination of employees numbers on CoWin platform.”

RS Sharma also added that any case of adverse event following immunisation (AEFI) after vaccination will be monitored.

To register at CoWin.gov.in and app, all you need to do is first login to the website (CoWin.gov.in) and enter your mobile number. Verify your number with OTP which will be sent to you. Once the registration is validated, the “Registration of Vaccination” page will pop up.

Enter the required details and click on the “register” button once it is filled. You will receive a confirmation message on successful registration. After that, you will be shown the “Account details” page through which you can schedule your appointment.

People are also allowed to add three more people linked with this mobile number by clicking on the “Add More” button. Enter the details of the individuals to be included.

One can also use the Aarogya Setu app to book appointment for vaccination. A separate tab has been created there to fill in some details like name, age and sex and register for the vaccination.

The Covid-19 vaccination drive will be open for all above 18 years from May 1. Several states like Kerala, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh announced free vaccination for everyone above 18 years of age.

The Serum Institute informed that it would be providing its Covishield vaccine at Rs 400 for every dose to state governments and Rs 600 per dose to private hospitals from May 1.

The nationwide vaccination drive for those above 45, healthcare and frontline workers was launched on January 16 and shall be continued as before in Government of India vaccination centres.
