Covid 19 Updates

The second Wave of Covid-19 is hitting Bengaluru hard

As the coronavirus pandemic broke out in early 2020, scientists wondered whether it would break out in waves like other virus pandemics. The overall picture has been witnessing a rise in COVID-19 cases, with an increase in the summer and a larger drop in the fall. Some areas that experienced a rise in coronavirus infections early on, followed by a decline, are now experiencing a “second wave” of cases.

Bengaluru continues to see a rapid increase in incidents, and officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Health Department were shocked to find that in several cases, the whole family tests positive. There are several families in the 15 micro containment zones found so far, where all family members have tested positive.

All four members of one house tested positive, while seven members of another house tested positive. One of the explanations may be that one of the infected people turned out to be a super-spreader.

People were initially not able to isolate themselves at home during the first wave of covid last year. Patients who were having symptoms were sent to covid treatment centers. Many hostels or hotels had been converted into covid centers and those who were corona positive were admitted to the hospital.

One of the reasons was that people were not serious enough to isolate at home, and many didn’t have separate rooms or bathrooms, which meant that if they continued to mingle with people, the whole family might test positive.

Dr. CN Manjunath, a state covid task force member said, “We are witnessing the second wave of covid 19. Monitoring the increase should be our top priority. The importance of contact tracing is critical, and we must isolate and quarantine them.

A few people believe that since they were not contaminated during the first wave, they are now healthy. However, it is their misunderstanding, since they are the ones who are most vulnerable right now if they remain complacent. We will have to wait for another two to four weeks to understand the growth because it is still early for the second wave.”

According to state war room chief Munish Moudgil, the effect was seen in entire families being covid-positive because People are failing to isolate people with covid or covid-like symptoms.
