Bengaluru: On Tuesday, Karnataka’s witnessed 39,510 fresh Covid-19 cases and 480 deaths. With this, the Covid tally has crossed the 20 lakh mark and the death toll has become 19,582.
The total caseload touched 20,13,193 and there are 5,87,452 active cases in the state.
14,05,869 people have been discharged till now which is inclusive of 22,584 discharged on Tuesday.
Bengaluru Urban reported 15,879 cases and 259 related fatalities which is the highest in the state.
The city has reported 9,83,519 cases and 8,690 deaths will now.
The active cases were 3,62,696.
Ballari witnessed 1,558 infections and 28 deaths. After Bengaluru, the small district has been reporting the highest number of cases for almost a fortnight.
The health department stated that 2,496 Covid cases were reported in Tumakuru, 2,170 in Mysuru, 1,359 in Mandya, 1,108 in Shivamogga, 1,084 in Uttara Kannada and 1,083 in Udupi.
Bagalkote, Belagavi, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamaguluru, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kalaburagi, Dharwad, Kodagu, Kolar and Raichur were among those districts that reported over 500 cases.
18 deaths were reported in Uttara Kannada, 16 each in Tumakuru and Hassan, 14 in Bengaluru Rural, 12 each in Chamarajanagar and Mysuru and 10 in Shivamogga.
21 other districts also reported deaths.
On Tuesday, 1,16,238 tests were done which is a decline of about 8,000 compared to Monday.
