Bengaluru: On Sunday, Karnataka witnessed 31,531 news Covid-19 cases and 403 related fatalities. This has taken the total number of infections to 22,03,462 and deaths to 21,837.
36,475 patients got discharged after recovery. Out of the 31,531 fresh cases, Bengaluru urban alone reported 8,344 cases.
As of Sunday, an aggregate of 22,03,462 cases have been confirmed in the state. This is inclusive of 21,837 deaths and 15,81,457 who got discharged. The total number of active cases are 6,00,147.
The day’s positivity rate stood at 27.84 per cent and the case fatality rate (CFR) was at 1.27 per cent.
Out of the 403 deaths, 143 were reported from Bengaluru urban, 26 from Ballari, 24 from Uttara Kannada, 18 from Hassan, 17 from Bengaluru Rural, 15 from Mandya, 14 from Shivamogga followed by others.
Bengaluru urban reported 8,344 new cases, Tumakuru 2,138, Mysuru 1,811, Belagavi 1,762, Ballari 1,729, Hassan 1,182 and Davangere 1,155 followed by others.
Bengaluru urban heads the list of positive cases with an aggregate of 10,51,058 followed by Mysuru with 1,12,127 and Tumakuru with 81,479.
Bengaluru urban witnessed the maximum number of discharges with 6,80,194, Mysuru with 96,281 and Ballari with 54,991.
Till now, a total of 2,78,79,697 samples have been tested out of which 1,13,219 were tested on Sunday.
