Bengaluru: On Sunday, Karnataka logged 20,378 new Covid-19 cases and 382 related fatalities. This has taken the total caseload to 25,87,827 and the death toll to 28,679.
There are 3,42,010 active cases in the state. The total discharges stood at 22,17,117 with the recovery of 28,053 people. Bengaluru Urban which witnessed the maximum number of cases every day with 26,000 cases a day reported 4,737 cases and 213 deaths on Sunday.
The city’s Covid tally and fatalities were higher than other parts of Karnataka. Till now, the city has reported 11,59,237 cases and 13,104 deaths.
Hassan district became the second Covid hotspot with 2,227 cases and 11 deaths.
Health bulletin stated that Mysuru reported 1,559 new Covid cases, followed by Belagavi with 1,171, Chitradurga 805, Tumakuru 773, Dakshina Kannada 727, and others.
1,38,809 samples were tested on Sunday which is inclusive of 1,24,232 using the RT PCR method. Till now, an aggregate of 2.96 crore tests have been done.
As of Sunday, 1.34 vaccinations were done in the state consisting of the first and second doses. The positivity rate for the day stood at 14.68 percent and the Case Fatality Rate was 1.87 percent.
