Bengaluru: On Saturday, Karnataka’s active Covid-19 cases surpassed the four lakh mark. 271 fatalities took the toll to 15,794.
The active cases were 4,05,068.
Out of the total 40,990 cases reported in the state, Bengaluru Urban alone witnessed 19,353 cases.
The day also witnessed as many as 18,341 people getting discharged after recovery.
An aggregate of 15,64,132 positive cases have been confirmed in the state which is inclusive of 15,794 deaths and 11,43,250 discharges.
Of the 271 deaths reported, Bengaluru Urban had 162 deaths, Tumakuru and Bengaluru Rural had 12 each, Ballari, Hassan had eight each, Mysuru 7, Davangere, Kalaburagi and Shivamogga 6 each and Uttara Kannada had 5.
Other districts had also reported deaths.
Apart from Bengaluru Urban, Mysuru had 2,529 cases, Tumakuru 2,308, Kalaburagi 1,407, Mandya 1,235, Ballari 1,163, Bengaluru Rural 940, and Dakshina Kannada 933, followed by 11 other districts with more than 500 cases each.
Till now, a total of 2.58 crore samples have been tested out of which, 1,77,982 was done on Saturday.
According to the reports, 97.56 lakh people have received their first and second doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
