Bengaluru: On Monday, Karnataka witnessed 38,603 fresh Covid cases and 476 deaths. This has taken the total number of cases to 22,42,065 and the death toll to 22,313. The day also had 34,635 patients discharged after recovery.
Out of the total cases, Bengaluru urban accounted for 13,338 new cases. According to the health bulletin, as of May 17, an aggregate of 22,42,065 Covid cases have been confirmed in the state. This is inclusive of 22,313 deaths 16,16,092 discharges.
Among the total deaths, 239 were reported from Bengaluru urban, 29 from Hassan, 17 from Ballari, 15 from Kalaburagi, Shivamogga and Uttara Kannada, 14 from Tumakuru, 13 from Bengaluru rural, 10 from Mandya followed by others. Of the fresh cases, Hassan accounted for 2,324 news cases, Ballari 2,322, Mysuru 1,980, Tumakuru 1,915, Belagavi 1,748 followed by others.
Bengaluru Urban has a total of 10,64,396 positive cases, Mysuru 1,14,107 and Tumakuru 83, 394. Bengaluru urban also tops the list of discharges with 6,90,291, followed by Mysuru 98,669 and Ballari 56,265. Till now, a total of 2,79,76,933 samples have been tested out of which 97,236 were tested on Monday.
