Karnataka Govt issues new guidelines & revises penalty amount for violation of COVID19 rules!

The Karnataka government has released a new set of guidelines for citizens on Wednesday, highlighting a rise in the number of cases in the state. People were also asked to strictly follow the rules.

The new notification deals with regulations in public places and if they are violated, the officials are authorised to take actions against the ones.

The notification was also submitted to the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday during a hearing of public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Letzkit Foundation seeking directions to the State Government to strictly enforce Covid regulations. Later, the Karnataka government was ordered to issue the notification by the Court.

Violations of rules such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance would be held accountable by the organizers of public gatherings, including religious and political ones.

For violations of guidelines, the compounding sum has been set at Rs 250 in BBMP and municipal corporation areas and Rs 100 in other areas. BBMP marshals, a police officer not below the rank of head constable, health inspectors, bill collectors, panchayat creation officers, and gram panchayat secretaries are among the officers authorized to compound the offences.

For non-air-conditioned halls and stores, the compounding number will be Rs 5,000, while it will be Rs 10,000 for air-conditioned halls, branded shops, star hotels, and outdoor activities, such as religious and political rallies.

7,851 of these cases were registered in Bengaluru Urban alone, according to the Department of Health and Family Welfare Services. Meanwhile, 54 people have died as a result of the infection across the state, with 33 of them in the capital city alone.
