Covid 19 Updates

For the first time this year, Karnataka has over 5,000 new Covid-19 cases

For the first time this year, Karnataka reported 5,279 new Covid-19 cases on Monday. Karnataka’s caseload has now risen to 10,20,434.

The state has confirmed 32 deaths, bringing the total death toll to 12,657, according to the health department. In Bengaluru Urban alone, 3,728 new cases were registered, bringing the state’s daily test positivity rate to 5.39 percent. Bidar (264), Kalaburagi (181), and Mysuru (180) are the other districts that have recorded the most cases today (165).

According to a department bulletin, a total of 9,65,275 people have been released, with 1,856 being released today. There were 42,483 active cases in the state.

This comes as Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar called on the public to help keep the Covid-19 situation under control on Monday.

Given the widespread economic hardship that followed the lockdown last year, as well as the subsequent wave of infections, any shutdown is likely to be the last resort. There are no simple decisions with hospital beds filling up and thousands of new cases being identified every day.

With 1,03,558 new infections, coronavirus cases in India reached a new daily high for the 26th day in a row, marking the highest daily total since the pandemic began. According to data revised on Monday by the Union Health Ministry, the nationwide Covid-19 tally now stands at 1,25,89,067. The number of active cases has risen to 7,41,830, accounting for 5.89 percent of all infections, while the recovery rate has fallen to 92.80%.
