Covid-19 Karnataka; health minister urged people to stay safe!

Karnataka health minister K Sudhakar said on Saturday that coronavirus cases are on the rise in all states, signaling the start of the second wave, and urged people to be careful.

He said that there are more active cases in 8 to 10 states, with 2.84 lakh cases in Maharashtra, 24,000 in Kerala, and 19,000 in Karnataka “The second wave has unmistakably begun. As a result, if we do not take action, the danger will come to haunt us.”

The minister advised people to wear masks and practice social distancing as a matter of habit. The state’s positivity rate of 1.6% is higher than the national average, which he claims is not a positive indicator.

“This is something we should take seriously. Every day, more than 1 lakh tests are performed ” In a press release, his office quoted him as saying.

Covid-19 containment controls are already in place, according to the Minister, and the government will take more effective controls in the coming days. I’ve asked the chief minister to take the requisite steps to prevent the spread of infection in educational institutions, and the CM will act on his own, he said.

On vaccination coverage among health care workers and front-line workers, Sudhakar said Bidar has achieved 113 percent, Dharwad 107, and Gadag has achieved 103. Whereas Bengaluru Urban, Bagalkot, Davangere, and Koppal have achieved 61, 64, 65, and 65 percent respectively.

With the first dose, 2,22,377 frontline warriors have been vaccinated. The second dose was given to 3,34,110 healthcare staff. So far, 16.18 lakh senior citizens over the age of 60 have been vaccinated, with 4.70 lakh people over the age of 45 who have comorbidities, He explained. He went on to say that the state would receive another 12 lakh doses in two to three days, he explained.

So far, the country has given over 5,81,09,773 anti-Covid shots. On March 23, the five-crore mark in vaccination was achieved. The nationwide vaccine campaign began on January 16th, with healthcare staff being inoculated, and frontline workers being vaccinated on February 2nd. The next step of Covid-19 vaccination began on March 1st for people over the age of 60 and those aged 45 and up with some comorbid conditions.
