Bengaluru: As the city is nearing towards 5,000 mark of fresh Covid-19 cases, Kamal Pant, commissioner of Police, Bengaluru has imposed a new set of orders across the city to prevent the spread of the infection.
The police had already forced few prohibited orders from April 4 to April 20 which banned rallies and gatherings.
The new prohibitory orders read, “The prohibiting orders promulgated in connection with the strict adherence to certain measures by the public as mandated by the government of Karnataka to prevent further spread of Covid-19 infection.”
The latest orders have banned any form of gatherings, dharnas, rallies etc. It has prohibited the functioning of gyms and swimming pools with more than 50% capacity, including those located in apartment complexes.
There shall be no hosting of visitors/patrons in pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants with more than 50% seating capacity.
Malls, departmental stores, markets or any other place of public gathering shall function with strict Covid-appropriate behaviour. This includes wearing masks, physical distancing, provision of hand sanitiser/handwash.
According to the officials, the latest prohibitory orders will come into force with immediate effect.
