Bengaluru: On Thursday afternoon, rumours were spread on social media regarding a possible lockdown in the state. Apparently, this was because, in several places including Malleshwaram, cops were forcing people to shut down their shops which were mistaken to be a part of full lockdown.
However, there are no probabilities of imposing a full lockdown in Karnataka.
On April 20, the state government issued fresh guidelines to contain Covid-19 which is being imposed with immediate effect now.
The guidelines issued stated that all cinema halls, gymnasium, shopping malls, swimming pools and similar places are to be shut down till May 4. But, the operators thought it to be only as part of the weekend and night curfew and hence kept them operational.
As the cops compelled them to close the malls and institutions, a rumour of full lockdown was spread in social media which led to a state of confusion among the citizens.
