Bengaluru: On Friday, the price of petrol surpassed the Rs 100 mark in Bengaluru. The price of petrol in the city is now Rs 100.17 a litre, whereas diesel is priced at Rs 92.97 per litre. According to the records, in March 2020, petrol was priced at Rs 71.91.
In March 2020, the price of diesel was Rs 64.41 per litre which has now become Rs 92.97, clearly a hike of Rs 28.56 in 15 months. Districts like Bidar, Ballari, Koppal, Davanagere, Shivamogga, and Chikkamaguluru already crossed the Rs 100 mark per litre petrol. On Friday, in Ballari, petrol was sold at Rs 102.05 per litre and diesel at Rs 94.7 per litre.
