Bengaluru: On Wednesday, many people faced glitches with the CoWin portal while registering for the vaccination drive. People had to ‘wait for OTP’.
Several people turned to Twitter to complain that they were either unable to open the website or receive an OTP after registering their mobile numbers or were unable to find a vaccination slot.
The registration of those between 18 and 44 years of age was started at 4 pm on Wednesday but the vaccination drive has been disrupted due to the shortage of vaccines.
Several people complained that the website was not opening and some even said that it showed registration was open only for those above 45 years.
“Were any of you able to find hospitals to schedule vaccination appointments for the 18-44 age group? Every hospital I see is showing minimum 45 years of requirement”, tweeted Rakshith S Ponnathpur, policy researcher.
Many people replied to this tweet that they did not receive OTP or they could not find a place to insert the OTP. There was a flood of complaints soon.
” More than 35 lakhs people registered in the first hour after launch of 18 plus registration on http://cowin.gov.in. Appointments for 18-44 will be available when State Govts and Private Vaccination Centres schedule sessions”, a tweet from the official handle said at 6:48 pm.
