Bengaluru records the highest minimum temperature in 5 years

Bengaluru: The city recorded the highest minimum temperature of 23.1 degrees Celsius for April over the past five years. It had recorded its highest maximum temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius for March two days ago.

“We thought the temperature would touch 37 degrees Celsius in May during the peak of summer. But, it could go up further”, said CS Patil, director of the Indian Meteorological Department.

He also explained that the Bay of Bengal has a low-pressure area. So, with all the moisture being concentrated there, there are no pre-monsoon showers in the state. Also, there are winds from the northern parts of the country.

Winds from the north are dry which pushes the mercury up. Bengaluru’s maximum temperature could go up to 36 to 38 degree Celsius in the next three days. Mostly, all the districts in northern parts of the state are recording temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius.
