“The pub ‘1522’ has been temporarily closed after 14 of its employees tested positive for Covid on Sunday,” Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) official L.Suresh told.

The city, which was the epicenter of the pandemic in Karnataka, has been hit by the second Covid wave, with over 2,000 positive cases reported as of Sunday.

About 87 employees of the famous pub-come-eatery were randomly checked as part of our regular exercise to check the health status of employees of hotels, restaurants, and pubs across the city, Suresh said. Further, he also added that the affected employees have been quarantined at their residence and are being monitored while they are asymptomatic. The pub has been sanitized and sealed to prevent it from being a cluster.

The city is attempting to track down customers who have visited the pub in the last few days in order to test and determine how many of them were contaminated.
