Wednesday, March 31, was the hottest day recorded in Bengaluru in March. As per the details given by the Meteorological department, the city was under a temperature of 37.2°C.
This was a digression from the normal temperature. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature was 23.1°C, which was a deviation of two degrees from normal. It was on March 26, 2017, that the city had last recorded 37.2°C.
The temperature rise is due to the wind direction and wind speed in Bengaluru, the officials stated. The IMD officials said that the city usually observes a maximum temperature of 36 to 37 degrees Celsius. They added that in April, Bengaluru may become comparatively hotter as the temperature may go up to 37 to 38°C.
Wednesday morning saw a deviation of 1.5°C from normal as the temperature was 35.4°C. The IMD foresaw that Bengaluru would record a maximum temperature of 37°C on Thursday, April and a minimum temperature of 22°C. The city may also have a partly cloudy sky.
Kalaburgi, in Karnataka, recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41°C and Belagavi the lowest minimum temperature of 18.9°C.
On the other hand, coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka may witness rain or thunderstorms. IMD officials added that dry weather may persist over north interior Karnataka.
The Indian Meteorological Department has foretold that the subdivisions of south peninsular India and few subdivisions of east, northeast and extreme north India shall witness the below-normal seasonal maximum temperature from April to June.
