A very popular spot for trekking is Thottikallu Falls or TK Falls, located near Bangalore. Among biker groups, the path leading to the falls is very much in demand and is popular for rough-bike rides. To get to the drop, one can take a four-wheeler or two-wheeler. Thottikallu Falls is gradually becoming a common location, and people often come here to get rid of the hustle and bustle of their busy lives.
The falls of Thottikallu Falls are often referred to as “Swarna Mukhi Falls” or “Golden Face.” The explanation is that the sunlight always falls directly during the daytime and shines on the waterfall, making it appear like a golden waterfall. The Thottikallu falls are surrounded by serene beauty and the mesmerizing mellow sound of the leaves, with a mild breeze blowing. There is also a temple under a big tree near the waterfalls that is dedicated to Lord Muneshwara. In the temple, you can still rest yourself and give your prayers.
There are a lot of people who linger by the waterfall, and by the temple, you will also see them. Currently, Thottikallu Falls is an amalgamation of two neighboring waterfalls. One of them has wide falls that lead to a wide shower, and a short, narrow fall is the other. Many trekkers even take a shower under the splendid waterfalls, as the spot is popular for trekking.
You can take a bus from Banashankari Bus Station to Nallakkana Doddy Bus Station after getting to Bangalore Airport. The Thottikallu waterfalls are within walking distance of the Nallakunta Bus Station. You can take the Bangalore-Mysore road and then join the Good Bangalore-Mysore Expressway if you hire a taxi or take a private car.
