This is one of Bangalore’s most famous and well-known temples. The spacious temple surroundings with lush greenery and beautiful buildings, while located on the lane, attract everyone’s attention. Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy’s main temple is situated on a hill and one has to climb almost 87 stairs. Lift services for aged and disabled people are open. A temple with three separate shrines for Navagrahas, Maha Ganpati, and Raja Rajeshwari is at the foot of the hill.
One finds a counter selling ticket for many sevas when you reach the temple. In order to do Annadanam, many people buy coupons. For any amount starting at ten rupees, one can buy rice. You can get a packet of Prasad at the entrance of the temple if you buy a coupon for Rs.50/- and above. Devotees drop rice into a large container before the idol of Goddess Annapurna. The nine Graha Devatas and their consorts and vahanas can be seen at Navagraha Shrine. A very large idol of Ganapati is seen at the shrine of Mahaganapati. Rajarajeswari’s idol is beautifully adorned with ornaments and garlands.
The main deity, Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy, is seen at the top of the hillock holding a mace in one hand and Mount Sanjeevani in the other. The Shrine of Sri Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita is seen on the right side of this shrine. The idols are fairly large and well-sculpted. A large Marakatha Linga (made of green-colored rock) is seen on the left side of the main shrine. It is very wide and neatly maintained in the main hall. There are two halls in this temple on the ground floor that are used for rituals and weddings.
The temple timetable is from 8.00 a.m. Towards 11.30 a.m. From 5.00 p.m. and Up to 8.30 p.m. The temple is held open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8.00 a.m. As of 12.30 p.m. From 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. and One can see several shops and restaurants on the road leading to the temple. This place offers a sense of serenity and happiness not only to the elders but to people of all ages in the busy crowded area.
