Manchanabele Dam

Manchanabele is a small village known for its picturesque dam and surrounding reservoir, situated on the outskirts of Bangalore.

It is a short 40 km drive away from Bangalore and, due to the calm, natural beauty and serenity offered by the location, has recently emerged as a popular weekend retreat for the people of Bangalore.

The Manchanabele Dam is constructed over the Arkavathy River, which is sought out by tourists, explorers, families, and friends. The entire expanse of the lake and the reservoir can be seen from a distance and from the vicinity of the lake you can catch a beautiful sunset.

Several adventure resorts and retreats have sprung up due to the popularity of the area. Via Dabbaguli village or from Magadi Road, where you will find most of the accommodation in the area, you can access Manchanabele Dam. Manchanabele Dam and its surrounding areas are full of some striking flora and fauna that can be seen during your visit.

Thick green trees that go on for miles and miles cover the elevated land surrounding the lake. Due to the large variety of trees and shrubs growing in the area, the climate is fresh and the air is clean.

October to March will be the perfect time to visit. This is the time when the region is experiencing its winter season. It is also the time immediately after the monsoon season, meaning you can take advantage of the fresh foliage, the brim-filled lake, and the good weather.

The airport nearest to Manchanabele Dam is Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport. The shortest and most convenient way to reach the dam after landing in Bangalore is by road. You can hire a car or rent a taxi outside the terminal itself, which will take you to Manchanabele Dam, 70 km away from the airport. You will be taken to Manchanabele Dam for a fun 2-and-a-half-hour drive along a convenient path.
