Karnataka’s Mattu Beach Shines Brightly At Night

Do you also mesmerize by the spectacular Northern Lights that light up the night sky? What if I told you that there is a tranquil beach near Udupi that exhibits a similar phenomenon, but the waves glow instead of the sky?  yes, there is a mysterious beach in Karnataka called Mattu Beach.

In Karnataka, there is a Mattu beach where the waves glow for real. The Mattu beach, near Udupi, is one of the few places in the country where the magic happens at nightfall. The explosion of blue neon lights illuminating the waves as they smash into the shores will steal your breath away. It’s is as if a million stars are floating around you.

The phenomenon is known as Bioluminescence, and it is caused by light released by microorganisms, marine vertebrates, and invertebrates in the sea. According to the researchers, the fireflies that light up the jungles exhibit the same chemical reaction.

This beach is a calm, secluded swimming spot, that is also popular for walks, picnics, and sunset viewing. The beach spreads for about  30 kilometres, which run all the way along the Arabian Sea’s coasts. It is 15 kilometres to the left of Kaup Beach and 15 kilometres to the right of Padukere Beach.

Since few people have visited this quaint little beach, it is very remote. The beach is perfect for catching a beautiful untouched sunrise and sunset, as well as strolls with your base. Mystic Beach offers a breathtaking view of the gleaming waves.
So, make your dream of dancing with the stars a reality by visiting this magnificent beach for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
