Jog Falls is getting a makeover for making it world-class tourist destination

The magnificent Jog Falls in Karnataka is getting its much-needed complete makeover. Officials are reportedly planning a number of projects, including boating services to Hebbail’s Padmavathi Temple and a 400-meter ropeway.

A science park and an amphitheater will be built in addition to these facilities. The Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) has already begun commissioning work to ensure that this location becomes a world-class tourist destination as soon as possible.

The existing viewing deck will be upgraded, and a new one will be added as part of the renovation. Furthermore, an amphitheater will be built for cultural activities, and a science park will be built to keep the kids entertained, which will include complete bathrooms and a cafeteria.

According to KPCL sources, the project was conceived by Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra and also includes a religious component. The project will also include the establishment of a boating facility from jungle lodges to the Vadanbailu Padmavathi Temple in Hebbail village, according to the source.

Jog Falls, one of India’s tallest waterfalls, is located in the thick evergreen forests of Shimoga district, Karnataka. It is 16 kilometers from Talguppa nearest railway station.

During the monsoons, the Jog falls in torrents, making a dazzling sight with rainbows thrown in for good measure. When the Linganmakki dam’s sluice gates are locked, one can take an adventurous walk at the bottom of the gorge.
