Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium – Science Center for Educational Activities

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium shortly referred to as JNP, is a science and space-loving children and their parent’s hotspot tourist attraction. The main attraction is the Sky Theatre at the planetarium, administered by the Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE).

This dome-shaped theatre hosts many shows that ignite people of all ages’ interest to learn more about celestial phenomena such as the sun, moon, planets, meteors, black holes, and much more.

In Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, There are also demonstrations that give us a detailed understanding of the history of advances in space research, such as the first man to land on space and space missions.

The phenomena of the sky can be observed directly through the telescope in special astronomical activities such as the sighting of a specific planet or eclipses.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bangalore has a science park where kids can enjoy seeing physics experiments in an open space taught in their classroom, such as resonance. School children visit JNP so that young minds get hands-on experience of space and the technology used in space missions.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium performs many tasks, such as Know Your Star and Monthly Movies. Lovers of space from all parts of the city meet at the planetarium to take part in special lectures.

The Planetarium of Jawaharlal Nehru is 34.1 km from Bangalore International Airport. Taking a cab from the airport via Bellary Road and reaching Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is the most convenient route.

Most of the events inside the planetarium take place under protected structures.
