The historical Vijayanagara Dynasty had its headquarters in Hampi, a temple town in northern Karnataka. The nearest rail station is Hospet, which is 13 kilometers from the Hampi ruins. Travelers use Hospet as a starting point for their trip to Hampi.
From October to March is the best time to visit Hampi. The perfect amount of time for a Hampi tour is two days. There is enough time for a sightseeing tour of the area.
