Government Aquarium, Bengaluru

There are marvels of the aquatic environment at the Government Aquarium in Bangalore. It is the second-largest aquarium in India and has a fascinating collection of cultivable and ornamental fish on show, commonly known as the Bangalore Aquarium. The aquarium is situated in the heart of the city, surrounded by many historical buildings, shopping streets, high-end shopping centers, museums, churches, restaurants, and pubs.

More than three decades ago, in 1983, Bangalore Aquarium, which won its position in the country’s top 10 aquariums, was born. It is situated right at the entrance of the popular Cubbon Park in the busy and bustling Central Business District of Bangalore. A good selection of indigenous and exotic freshwater fish species, including both cultivable and ornamental varieties, can be found in the aquarium.
