The Jungle Lodge and Resorts Ltd. (JLR) project Dubare Elephant Camp is situated on the Kaveri Riverbank. It is situated in the Kodagu or Coorg district of Karnataka and is a major Coorg attraction in and of itself. Every year, visitors come to this camp to learn about the various elephant species.

These elephants have been thoroughly trained by naturalists or Mahouts, who are responsible for the treatment of tuskers and other elephants. In fact, these naturalists are very knowledgeable about elephant biology and history. Visitors from all over the world learn more about the lives of these elephants, their feeding habits, the laws and regulations, and so on.

The Dubare Camp, which used to train elephants for the famous Mysore Dasara, now has a new purpose. Today, it’s a place where hundreds of tourists can meet their biggest (literally) dream one-on-one.

The Dubare Elephant Camp offers an opportunity to learn more about these gigantic, enchanting animals. Many visitors have left the camp with a sense of duty to do their part to protect elephants, thanks to a number of events focused on this. Our guests are directed through the nuances of elephant history, ecology, and biology by a professional naturalist.

Despite the fact that the camp is open all year, the best time to visit is after the monsoon season has ended. The weather is good from September to March, making it suitable for sightseeing. Travelers will not have to negotiate slippery, sticky, or muddy paths due to less rainfall. Otherwise, visiting during the summer can be a lot of fun because of the clear weather and lack of heavy rain.
