Bugle Rock Park is one of the Green Lungs of Bangalore, with its lush flora (and also waterfalls). With three temples and a walking and jogging track (and an open gym if you are looking for a workout) in the park, in the middle of the greenery, locals visit the area every day. See several statues of prominent Bangaloreans, such as the first Kempe Gowda, the famous DV Gundappa litterateur, and more. There is also an amphitheater here with a capacity for 300 spectators, used for events of cultural, social, and awareness. The Bull Temple, or Dodda Basavana Guddi, is adjacent to the park and houses one of the largest Nandi idols in the country. A good place to be and to rest is the Bugle rock formation in Basavanagudi. This rock formation, nearly 3,000 million years old, has a park around it as well.
There are murals of famous citizens of Bangalore and Karnataka on the outer wall of an old water tank in the confines of the Bugle Rock Park: Kempe Gowda, the ruler of Bangalore and Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya, the engineering statesman and the founder of modern Karnataka, behind the statue of D V Gundappa, popularly known as DVG, the Kannada litterateur, a philosopher erected in 2002-03 to honor him.
The park on 5th Main Road is situated near the BMS College of Engineering. INR 30 per head is the fee for entry. You can visit there between 9:00 AM and 7 PM on all days of the week . 2 hours is the average time you need. To press on your best moments, you can bring cameras. The distance from Kempe Gowda’s bus stand is approximately 35 km.
