The Bengaluru Bannerghatta Biological Park is among the most popular and frequently visited destinations in the region, located on the outskirts of Bangalore, and usually known as BBBP. It is an integral part of the majestic Bannerghatta National Park and is spread over a wide area, catering to nature and wildlife enthusiasts.
Bannerghatta Biological Park is also the first biological park to have a fenced forested elephant sanctuary in all of India. Covering a 122-acre extension. A wide number of butterfly species are also home to the biological park. You can catch a glimpse of different species on a safari here, including tigers, bears, deer, elephants as well as monkeys.
Kempegowda Bengaluru International Airport is situated approximately 55.8 kilometers from the Biological Park of Bannerghatta. Depending on the traffic, it typically takes about an hour and a half to reach the park from Bengaluru Airport.
It is also advisable to take a taxi from the airport or Ola and Uber all the way to Bannerghatta Biological Park. A taxi can take you the quickest route to the park, while the cheapest way to the park is to take a bus.
The Biological Park is open all year round, and the best time to visit the park is from October to February. The weather is cool and friendly throughout this time and ideal for spotting the flowering trees and wildlife.
The timetable for Bannerghatta National Park is 09:30 a.m. Up to 05:00 p.m. For all days of the week except Tuesday, the park is open to the public. To avoid crowds and the non-availability of entry tickets, it is often recommended to enter the park before 02:00 p.m., especially on weekends. The Bannerghatta Biological Park entrance fee is INR 80 for adults and INR 40 for children. You can take your camera with you, but it can be charged.
