Bengaluru, home to Karnataka, is a state renowned for its technical prowess. Sir M Visvesvaraya, a noted engineer, laid the foundations for the technological growth of the state. Bengaluru’s status changed after the town became a hub for IT and tech firms. The success story began in the late 80s when the IT giants relocated their base to the area. Today, Karnataka accounts for 25 percent of the nation’s $160 billion in annual IT revenues.
