There are some excellent restaurants in this trendy area, serving both Indian and foreign cuisine and, of course, plenty of alcohol. Toit, a microbrewery that sees huge crowds every day of the week, is arguably the most popular of them.
If you think you’re a Roman when you’re in Rome, you’d head to an MTR outlet to join the Bangaloreans’ queues waiting patiently from 6 am for their turn at this Udupi eatery, which is expected to soon complete a century in operation. There are many fans of the purely vegetarian fare here, reminiscent of its fragrance, the pure ghee, and the solid filter coffee accompanying the traditional South Indian breakfast fare of Idli/sambar, Dosa, Vada, and Upma. Right next to the Lal Bagh is the original outlet of MTR, but they have several branches, also outside India.
