1.Shopping at Brigade Road and Commercial Street
Bangalore shopping is a fantastic experience, mixing the scale of a metro with the fun of the much smaller place it used to be a couple of decades ago. The roads are narrow, the buildings are shorter than in Mumbai, for instance, but the rest of them are the same.
You can get some trendy things on Brigade Lane, while you can find a lot of street vendors selling trinkets at fair prices on Commercial Street. A perfect space for shopping for a couple of hours.
2. Chikpet for Silk Sarees
Many visitors to Bangalore put the purchase of pure silk sarees on their list of things to do and are not far from finding the reasons. Some of the finest and most authentic silks are found in Bangalore. It is also called by some the fashion capital of India or even the East.
Some of the areas in Bangalore where you can find an excellent set of traditional silk sarees and contemporary clothes are MG Road and Chikpet. The rates differ by the quality and it may be important to prevent being defrauded by a discerning eye/escort.
3. Breakfast on St. Mark’s Road & Church Street
St. Mark’s Lane, where there are many important places to get a good breakfast in Bangalore, is just off the very famous MG Road. Koshy’s, a legendary restaurant with food to back up its name, is chief among them. You get outstanding breakfast sandwiches and puffs and the most fluffy omelets in all of Bangalore. The Church Street Social, which is the place to be if you’re nursing a bad hangover, is nearly next door.
4.Trendy Meals at Indiranagar
They say there are more restaurants in Indiranagar per square kilometer than in any other part of India. There are some excellent restaurants in this trendy area, serving both Indian and foreign cuisine and, of course, plenty of alcohol. Toit, a microbrewery that sees huge crowds every day of the week, is arguably the most popular of them.
5.South Indian Food at Mavalli Tiffin Rooms (MTR)
If you think you’re a Roman when you’re in Rome, you’d head to an MTR outlet to join the Bangaloreans’ queues waiting patiently from 6 am for their turn at this Udupi eatery, which is expected to soon complete a century in operation. There are many fans of the purely vegetarian fare here, reminiscent of its fragrance, the pure ghee, and the solid filter coffee accompanying the traditional South Indian breakfast fare of Idli/sambar, Dosa, Vada, and Upma. Right next to the Lal Bagh is the original outlet of MTR, but they have several branches, also outside India.
