Bangalore, among Indian cities with populations of more than a million people. It has emerged as the best city in terms of ease of living among cities with a population of 49 million. The Ease of Living Index is a method for assessing the standard of living and the role of different urban planning policies.
Bangalore was first on the list, followed by Pune and then Ahmedabad. Among the 111 cities that participated in the exercise. All three cities were ranked the top places to live in India.
The ease of index was measured in two categories: first, for cities with populations of more than a million people, and then for cities with populations of less than a million people.
According to a press release from the PIB, Bangalore was the best-performing city in the Million plus category. Accompanied by Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Surat, Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Indore, and Greater Mumbai.
Shimla was ranked first in the group of cities with populations of less than a million people. Followed by Bhubaneshwar, Silvassa, Kakinada, Salem, Vellore, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Davangere, and Tiruchirappalli.
Aside from the Ease of Index 2020, the government also released the Municipal Performance Index. It examines the sectoral performance of 111 municipalities across five verticals, with a total of 20 sectors and 100 indicators.
Indore was first in the million-plus region, followed by Surat and Bhopal. New Delhi Municipal Council came out on top in the less than million groups, accompanied by Tirupati and Gandhinagar.
