Bengaluru: On Monday, Karnataka witnessed 44,483 Covid-19 cases and 239 deaths which has taken the total caseload and fatalities to 16.46 lakh and 16,250 respectively. Out of these, Bengaluru urban alone reported 22,112 cases.
The day also witnessed 20,901 patients getting discharged after recovery. According to the health department, an aggregate of 16,46,303 positive cases has been confirmed in the state. This includes 16,250 deaths and 11,85,299 discharges.
There were 4,44,734 active cases. After Bengaluru urban, Mysuru had 2,685 cases, Hassan 1,673, Mandya 1,367, Kalaburagi 1,083, Dharwad 1,021, Ballari 990, Chikkaballapura 886 and Bengaluru rural had 815 cases.
500 cases were reported from 11 districts. Out of the 239 deaths reported on Monday, Bengaluru urban had 115, Chamarajanagar 19, Mysuru 14, Ballari and Hassan had 14 each, Tumakuru eight, Shivamogga seven, and Bagalkote, Chikkaballapura and Kalaburagi had five each.
2.61 crore samples have been tested till now, out of which 1,49,090 were tested on Monday. 98.78 lakh people have taken the first and second doses of vaccine till now.
