Bengaluru: With the rapid rise in Covid cases in Bengaluru, where the cases crossed the five lakh mark on Wednesday, Karnataka recorded 11,265 fresh Covid-19 cases and 38 deaths. This has now taken the tally and toll to 10,94,912 and 13,046.
On Wednesday, Bengaluru Urban alone witnessed 8,155 cases and 23 deaths. The city has reported 5,02,024 infections and 4,933 deaths till now. The actives cases are 63,167.
As per a health bulletin, there was a total of 9,96,367 discharges in the state, including 4,364 on Wednesday.
There were 85,480 active cases in Karnataka which includes 506 in the ICU.
According to the bulletin, 376 cases were reported in Kalaburagi, 356 in Mysuru, 290 in Bidar, 245 in Tumakuru, 159 in Ballari, 140 in Dakshina Kannada, 132 in Hassan, 127 in Dharwad, 122 in Vijayapura, 116 in Kolar, 110 in Udupi and 107 in Belagavi.
Bagalkote, Bengaluru Rural, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamaguluru, Davangere, Gadag, Haveri, Kodagu, Koppal, Mandya, Raichur, Ramanagara and Shivamogga also witnessed cases.
Apart from Bengaluru, deaths have also been reported from other districts such as five in Mysuru, three each in Kalaburagi and Dharwad, two in Bidar and one each in Ballari and Tumakuru.
1,13,242 tests were done on Wednesday, including 1,05,630 by RT PCR and other methods. This is taken the total tests conducted till now to 2.30 crore.
An aggregate of 61.26 lakh vaccinations was done since the drive started in Karnataka on January 16.
