Bengaluru: As there are concerns that the third wave nay impact children, an expert has said that adults may become the source of infection in many cases.
Dr Shivaprakash Sosale, an assistant professor at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) said that there is no evidence as to children will be note affected by a possible third have. However, if more adults get the infection then the paediatrics will go up too.
Thulasi Maddineni, BBMP special commissioner (Finance) stated that the civic body had bought 1,000 oxygen concentrators as part of getting prepared for the third wave. She ensured that all necessary measured would be taken and also, citizens must support by following Covid appropriate behaviour at all times.
On AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria’s statement that the third wave may hit the country in eight weeks, she said that travel has been a prominent source for the spread of the infection as people move from one district to another.
On the vaccination front, she said, “We are planning vaccination drives for helpers and security staff and by the month-end, it will take off.”
