Bengaluru: State Transport Undertakings (STUs) including Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Bengaluru Metropolitan Corporation (BMTC) resumed the bus services from Monday after a long gap.
2,000 BMTC buses ran on major routes between 6 am and 7 pm. Also, 17 Vayu Vajra airport services (117 trips) between Kempegowda International Airport to Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic) and Electronics city operated. Till 8 am, BMTC operated 796 buses across the city.
KSRTC resumed intrastate services in the state except in Mysuru and Dakshina Kannada districts. KSRTC ran 757 buses across the state till 8 am.
From 7 am on Monday, Namma Metro commenced the metro services. BMRCL operates metro services between 7 am to 11 am and 3 pm to 6 pm with a frequency of five minutes.
In the meantime, many private bus operators have decided not to operate their bises till everything returns to normal.
