Bengaluru: As Karnataka reported 38,224 discharges on Tuesday, a total of 20 lakh Covid recoveries have been logged till now. The discharges continue to outnumber the fresh cases which were 22,578.
The state witnessed 588 more deaths which have taken the toll to 26,399. The total caseload stood at 24,72,973.
Out of the new Covid cases, 6,243 were from Bengaluru urban. The city also witnessed 13,210 discharges and 350 deaths.
As of May 25 evening, an aggregate of 24,72,973 Covid positive cases has been confirmed in the state. This includes 26,399 deaths and 20,22,172 discharges.
The total number of active cases was 4,24,381.
The positivity rate for the day was 21.13 percent, whereas, the case fatality rate was 2.58 percent.
Of the deaths reported on Tuesday, Belagavi logged 24 deaths, Ballari 20, Shivamogga 19, Mysuru 17, Uttara Kannada 15, Tumakuru 14, followed by others.
Bengaluru Urban district has the most number of cases with a total of 11,31,496, followed by Mysuru 1,31,656 and Tumakuru 96,470.
Bengaluru Urban also had the maximum number of discharges with 9,00,081, followed by Mysuru 1,14,998 and Tumakuru 73,178.
Till now, a total of 2,89,23,718 samples have been tested till now. Out of these, 1,07,675 were tested on Tuesday alone.
