Karnataka announced 4,373 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases to 10.10 lakh. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 12,610 as a result of 19 related deaths. According to the Health Department, a total of 10,10,602 COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the state, with 12,610 deaths and 9,61,359 discharges.
36,287 patients are healthy and in isolation at designated hospitals, with 327 in Intensive Care Units, out of 36,614 active cases.
Six people died in Bengaluru Urban and Mysuru, three in Hassan, two in Mandya, and one each in Kalaburagi and Tumakuru. Bengaluru Urban also topped the list of districts with 3,002 new instances, followed by Bidar with 172, Mysuru with 171, Tumakuru with 167, and Kalaburagi with 151. With a total of 4,44,244, Bengaluru Urban district tops the list of positive cases, followed by Mysuru 56,264, and Ballari 39,913.
A total of 1,959 patients were discharged from the hospital on the same day. On Saturday, 3,002 new cases were reported from Bengaluru Urban alone, out of a total of 4,373 new cases reported.
Bengaluru Urban led the way in terms of discharges with 4,13,058, followed by Mysuru 54,331 and Ballari 38,969. So far, over 2,17,69,721 samples have been screened, with 1,23,830 being tested on Saturday alone.
Meanwhile, K Sudhakar, the Health Minister of Karanataka, hinted on Saturday that the new collection of fresh guidelines released by the state government on Friday to combat the spread would not be relaxed. The clarification came as a result of pressure from a number of industries to relax constraints in order for the company to operate properly.
According to the order issued by chief secretary P Ravi Kumar, the new guidelines will be in effect in the state until April 20.
